The New Star of European Dance Music, “Orange Blossom” was in Istanbul!
Orange Blossom, European musical scene’s most promising star candidate, who drew a serious amount of attention after the Womex and Roskilde Festivals, met the music lovers in Istanbul on 14th of April 2007 at Shaman World Music Days.
Lead singer Leila: French – Algerian; a woman with a timeless, evocative voice. Violinist, PJ: French-born and classically trained, an ex-punk with a healthy disrespect for technique. Percussionist, Mathias: raised in France, reborn among the people and the instruments of West Africa. Drummer, arranger and programmer, Carlos: a dreadlocked Mexican with a well-worn passport and a taste for musical adventure. Their music references past and future, crosses cultural and linguistic borders. Laced with infectious Arabic choruses, lifted by lush strings and tempered by the dark, driving beats.

Scheduled as a part of the European tour for their latest album, “Everything Must Change”, Orange Blossom’s Istanbul gig mesmerized the Turkish audience.

Opening its doors in February 2007 garajistanbul will be a performance center that is open to unconventional and alternative performances. The venue is structured to be a flexible and re-designable empty space, with the ability to accommodate all forms of ever-changing and developing world of performing arts.
